IMUX-2000:  Inverse Multiplexing Bridge/Router
The IMUX 2000 standards based inverse multiplexer enables the cost effective aggregation of up to 4 WAN data links, resulting in effective data rates of up to 8 Mbps.  This provides an affordable and scaleable option for applications requiring additional WAN bandwidth without incurring the cost of a T3 connection.  The installation of an IMUX 2000 can be kept completely transparent to the overall system configuration.

Loss of a WAN line results in an overall bandwidth decrease which affects all users equally.  When the problem is corrected, bandwidth returns to normal with no interruption of service.

Hot swappable individual WAN interface modules allow real time trouble shooting and repair without interruption of the remaining WAN connections.

System configurations can utilize external or integrated CSU/DSUs.  The IMUX 2000 can be configured either as a transparent bridge or as a fully featured router providing a complete routing solution.  As a bridge, the unit will transparently support OSPF and BGP4.  When configured as a router, it will support NAT/PAT and RIP2.

Fully featured Network Address Translation (NAT) with Port Address Translation (PAT) provides network security while conserving IP address utilization.
